The Automobile Company of Caniço, Ltd. provides a service in long distance public transport, and Caniço is its main market. Our company makes 68 daily connections between several locations of Caniço and the City of Funchal.
There are two types of transport titles: the ticket sold aboard and the Social Pass. Below there are their description and fares.

Titles of Transport - Decree No. 172/2009 of 23th December.
Social Pass - Monthly single fare. Valid for all workers, in routes of regular transport concessioned to the company that provides the title of transport. The routes must not exceed the number of fare zones for which it was acquired and the number of trips is unlimited.

Combined Social Pass (Urban / long distance) - Monthly single fare. Valid for passengers who need transport service provided by long distance and urban transport companies. The passenger can use the whole urban public transport network in any route and enjoy unlimited number of trips. This pass allows the transport of the passenger when inclosing the long distance pass card with the label valid for long-distance routes between Funchal and any other location on the island outside the city's municipality, and the specific label valid to urban transport for the combined social pass.

Infirmity/disability Social Pass - Monthly single fare. Valid for passengers in a situation of permanent infirmity in routes of regular transport concessioned to the bus company that provides the title of transport. The routes must not exceed the number of fare zones for which it was acquired and the number of trips is unlimited.

Senior Social Pass - Monthly fare only. Valid for passengers at the age of 65 or older and reaching the retirement age, in routes of regular transport concessioned to the bus company that provides the title of transport. The routes must not exceed the number of fare zones for which it was acquired and the number of trips is unlimited.

Pensioner Social Pass - Monthly single fare. Valid for retirees or pensioners of any social security system at the age of 65 or older. This situation must be certified by the parish council of their residence area, proving that their family income is the same as the national minimum wage or higher. Valid for the routes of regular transport concessioned to the bus company that provides the title of transport. The routes must not exceed the number of fare zones for which it was acquired and the number of trips is unlimited.

Student Social Pass - Monthly single fare. Valid for students who do not have social benefits, provided by the school, in what public transport is concerned. Those students must prove through a written document, certified by the school, that they attend that particular educational establishment in the year in progress. Valid for the routes of regular transport concessioned to the bus company that provides the title of transport. The routes must not exceed the number of fare zones for which it was acquired and the number of trips is unlimited.
